Call Schedule

Teaching Service (Inpatient Medicine)

  • Interns rotate for 1 month at a time, taking admissions three times per week from 6 AM through 6 PM.

  • 2nd and 3rd year residents rotate in 1 week blocks, either acting as senior resident from 6 AM to 6 PM or acting as night float resident from 6 PM through 6 AM.

  • Night float call may be done from home if the patient needs allow.

  • 2nd and 3rd year residents take Saturday 24 hour call 4-5 times per year.

Obstetric Months

  • Residents take 24 hour call from 6 AM through 6 AM every third day

Inpatient Pediatric Month

  • At Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

  • Interns take call every 4th day from 6 AM until 8 PM for 3 weeks and act as night float from 6 PM until 8 AM for one week.

Clinic Call

  • 2nd and 3rd year residents take our patient's phone calls when clinic is closed. Each resident does this 4-5 weeks per year.
